    Knee - but confused...

Guys I was deadlifting about a month ago - and I strained my left knee - the inside of it. Felt it immediately. Was able to finish the workout and walk on it - but over the next few weeks it got worse.

I have no swelling or water.

I can bend it fine - its when I come up to full extension (like maybe 150 degrees) does it hurt like shit.

having issues going up and down steps and getting up and down out of a chair.

It seemd like it was going away - but I find myself doing things that reaggravate it.

Any ideas? The doctor is out right now as I am in between jobs and I have no medical.

if you can bend it all the way and there is no excruciatin pain + there is no swelling up like a balloon or the feeling of it giving out when you walk ...then you can be safe to assume that your ACL and PCL are safe, which is a good thing..beleive me!!

If you had hurt yout meniscus then there would have been swelling still and continous pain reardless of wether you are moving/training or not. Also if it was a bigger tear in meniscus then it could have left a fragment loose and your knee would lock up when you extend it and make lots of poping sounds that you arent used to. So i think personally your meniscus is fine from what you descirbed

MCL and LCL again you would have had serious bruising and swelling and pain if they were torn you would have known by now. So i would rule those out.

My personal opinion is based on the up an down the stairs part which you described and the chair because i had that same exact injury doing leg exercices one time and it confused the life out of me!! Your problem my friend has to do with your kneecap! the pattelae (spelling?) , either your kneecap rubbed a little hard or it came slightly out of place and then returned which kind of pushes a "reset" button in your knee which leaves it confused for a while!!

The pain feels like it is inside the knee but infact it is just a trick it plays on you because the kneecap glides over a section of your knee which feels like the middle of it, and the rubbing or trauma that happens there does cause the pain and problem to feel like it originates from there. The kneecap and the muscles that surround it and move it after being put in "reset"mode play mind tricks on you and they are confused themselves which makes them do crazy things when you sit down or get up or when you go up or down the stairs

I had the same injury an same feeling and it made me feel like my knee blew out for a long long time! and i went to countless doctors and had many MRI's and X-rays and they all showed no problem at all. If ou rest it, and go back to exercising after a couple of weeks but start with low weight very low, then it will get back into normal mode.

See a doctor and let him do a manipulation for injury, if he finds nothing then BELEIVE him the first time and dont spend time and money looking for something that isnt there, basically dont go back to him unless its swollen like a balloon or you cant walk at all

It just takes time and physical therapy u can do alone
