    pain relief injections

    Heres the deal guys.

Had open quad tendon debridment opperation in Nov. Partially torn. Ive also suffered from chronic pain in the quad tendon attachment area for years. Now post op Im back training light. Problem is I cant do much in the way of quads due to the extream pain. Its like I never had the opperation. Doc and theripist said everything is good to go and that I cant hurt it further. But the pain is breathtaking. I cant jog, shoot hoops or anything with sudden movements. Its just the pain. I squatted for the first time in 6 months and could do 225 for 10 no problem but it hurt so bad that I just stopped there. So its not as though its just weak. My question is, is there any type locale pain injection I could get to numb the area so I could be active. Maybe lidocaine??? or something. On like a weekly basis???? For gods sake Im only 30 and cant even jog or get up off the toilet with out severe pain. Im sick of the Ibuprofen, celebrex and percocet. I dont wanna take all that and its really not helping. Everyday activities are fine but I wanna be active. Help!!!!

Okay never had problems in the leg, But i had torn ligaments in my shoulder and upper back that i have had either lidocaine or corto injected by a doctor every few weeks to get through the football season and it worked great. I also had a horrible big toe injury ( yeah it sounds pathetic) that would kill every time i took a step and had it injected and the pain went away for 3 weeks, then came back of course, untill it truly healed with time off

I tore the muscles in my neck and got some bulging discs also. Went to get steroidal injections and they helped for about 2 weeks each. I did a series of 3. However, no healing took place then. When I quit the series, It started to heal as I could feel it get tighter and stronger. But the trigger points and scar tissue became a SERIOUS issue. These caused extreme pain and discomfort. My girlfriend use to massage me evrynight but to no relief. Then I went to a chiropractor and got some ultrasound therapy to break up the scar tissue and trigger points. Within 3 visits I had major relief in the whole area! You may need to break up the scar tissue, ask a chiro.

I use this stuff for joint pain it only needs to be injected a couple times a year but its a hell of a poke into a joint. Not sure if its suitable for your injury but it works good for me

Dude, I fought a bad back for years w crippling pain. I found a Doc in the area who specialized in Travell and Simons trigger point therapy (and uses strategic injections of lidocaine and marcane) who literally saved my life.

    Good luck-

3dgamer, Did you have to go to a pain specialist or a reg. doc. I would like to know more about your treatment.
