Extreme Tibialis Anterior Tightness
Hi - Here are my specs
22 years old
196 lbs
5'10
about 14% BF
I've been playing semi-competetive hockey for about 10 years.
I started a cycle (200mg t.prop eod, 25mg dbol ed) 4.5 weeks ago.
My usual hockey weight is about 170.
I've put a bit of weight on in this cycle so far, but I'm sure to do 1 leg workout every week (mostly leg press, calves, and squats)
I started playing hockey again yesterday, (had not done a leg workout in about 8 days prior).
Something happened thats never happened before. After a few shifts; the muscle on my outer shin got extremely tight and very painful. Looking at diagrams I believe this is the Tibialis Anteroir muscle. Since beginning the cycle, this muscle often gets tight walking up hills too.
Does anyone know why? Could it be lagging behind? Is it a steroid side effect? Am I not stretching properly?
What can I do at the gym or before a game to prevent this muscle from hurting so much??
After the game; my Abductor Hallucis was also enlarged and in pain. (the large muscle on the inside of the foot)
I'd like to keep playing hockey because of the nice interval cardio; but I'm having too much pain/trouble with these muscles.
Thanks for any help
