Streching is the most important thing you do in a gym. All to often its easy to forget about it and jump right into lifting hundreds of pounds. No wonder that shoulder or knee blew out!

thanx for the heads up
Stretching before lifting has been shown in some studies to actually increase the chance of injury. All the big exercise organizations state to do a proper warmup before lifting and doing the stretching after the exercise session is complete.
This is what I do: some form of 5 min mild cardio to get the body warm at the start of the workout IF I'm feeling tight, then pretty much for every exercise I do a warmup set with about 50% the weight of the max I'm pyramiding up to. In that set I try to establish the mind-muscle connection and also try to get a full stretch of the fibers in question.
Don't forget to bring a Towel!!
You never know when you might need a towel.
you cant go wrong with a warm up stretch, isnt that like a staple?
warm stretching, warm up sets, then your actual lifting
I never ever stretch...just warm up with lighter weights.
