    lifting after surgery

i recently had surgery last friday. i had a cist removed from my neck. ive been making sure i still eat like i did before my surgery even tho i can work out. i was wondering a couple things:

how long after a surgery did any of you start lifting weights again?
how long will it take my body to start losing muscle when not lifting?
will doing light lifting during my recovery help me maintain my muscle?

1 My last surgery was a ventrical hernia...I was back in the gym in 8 days....full force in 20 days.
2...all individuals are different..but if you continue eating right you shouldn't have issues considering the surgery you had wasn't so bad.
3 absolutely...go light and gradually resume to full strength.
As always consult with the surgeon before doing anything "crazy Good luck and speedy recovery!

It's a cyst, I have had moles removed and other minor surgeries, the no exercise is only a precaution. Just dont strain for a few days, lift lighter than normal but no reason to stop even if you have several stitches just don't work that area hard. It's your neck, easy on shoulder shrugs. LOL
