I have broke the pinky toe bone on my right foot twice (Jones Fracture) in the past 6 months. I was needing to know how to recover and become as close to normal as i can. I have been taking vitamin d and calcium regularly.

First off, How did you break it???
i broke it playing basketball each time
Were you just running or did you get stepped on or kicked???
almost sounds like you have a repetitive stress injury.
i was just running the first time and then i felt it snap and the second time i was cutting around someone and i leaned on it a lot and tried to go around and then i felt it snap
Have you had any orthodics for your shoes done?
no but i had to wear this big air up boot that went up to my knee for like 3 months
Oh you may try seeing someone that builds custom inserts for your basketball shoes. You almost sounds like you run with a slight eversion of the foot to cause you pinky toe to become injured. I know there are sports trainers, Physical therapist and Chiropractors that have force plate machines that they can build custom shoe inserts based of those readings. They are not cheap, I had to get some special ones myself because of chronic ankle sprains. I didnt have to go with the custom ones as my orthopedic surgeon determined but they were not cheap just the same.
ok thanks man i will follow up on those inserts. thanks for all your advice on this subject.
Ask your orthopaedist for a carbom fiber insert. They are fairly cheap like 30 bucks and dont allow the foot to bend.Wear that when you play!! Also do you smoke, dip etc??? These fractures have very poor blood supply and can require surgery!! Take care of your feet! And if you smoke etc.. QUIT! the nicotine will make the healing process slower!!
