Thread: I give up and, I still have pain.

Unhappy I give up and, I still have pain.

I give up. I wish I never got a college degree. I thought what it would be like to be homeless. I can't remember the last time I drank. I'm a failure. I got rejected from the Lodge members, because I'm a bad man. I can't get a job, because my work sucks. I had memories of having a cult following with fellow students, because they liked my animation and some students that I never met before loved my animation. I thought the students and teachers liked my animation and I got A's. I stopped thinking about college loans that I can't pay back. I'll be in a cast for I don't know how long. The orthopedic put me on the strongest dose of Vicodin at the maximum per day and I still get pain with my broke arm. I don't sleep much and I'm loosing my appetite and loosing weight.

Pain sucks and being a failure sucks. I'm screwed.

Red face I'm not drinking. I'm frustrated with a bad economy and lack of sleep because of pain

My past teacher thinks I'm drinking, but I can't drink even if I wanted to, because I can't drive because I have broke arm. I'm giving up to easy, because of being so proactive with applying for internship without getting results. Since I broke my arm I have not got much sleep, because of pain and lack of sleep may be affecting my will to keep trying and being bummed, because of unemployment when I'm trying to do all the right things and trying so hard makes me frustrated, because I'm expecting results.

As hard as I try with having a college degree and being so persistance with trying to get internship and I still don't have internship has discouraged me to the point to were I feel like throughing in the towel, but I'll snap out of this. The economy is bad and I'm getting frustred, because of it. The lack of sleep, because of pain is causing me to tired and not feeling good and it shows in my writing. I feel like drinking, but I can't even if I wanted to, but thats one thing I definately should not do during these tough times.

This is an injury section, not a self pity party section.

Everyone has had tough times. Get over it and stop making excuses. Now do you have a question on an injury?

Question average broken bone recovery time

Does anyone know the average time of a non-smoker that has had a broken bone that ended up with surgery and the average time it takes for a broken arm to heal is a question that I have, because I want to know how much time it will take until the pain goes away? Sorry for the pity party.

Question Are there any steroids that strengthen bones?

I had an injury practicing a sport called, “martial arts,” and broke my arm. My question is there any steroids that strengthen bones? If there is not an anabolic steroid that strengthens bones then perhaps there may be another type of steroid that does.

Never could have said it better myself try 8 years of back pain, with a year of prolotherapy and now spine force treatment and i am still not 100%.

Ho father died of cancer in 2006, suffered 2 years of hell i was there to support him.

I lost many pets in the process that i loved very much. Suffered a mental breakdown due to verbal abuse from my supervisor in 2008, was off for 3 months, filled in an official complaint, went back to work to get my job post abolish 2 months after.

Went back to school in networking security, having a very hard time with this.

I have no job right now, my unemployment insurance is almost over, and i have to face the facts that my next job i will be cough in traffic.

How many times do you think i tough of killing myself, that life is worthless, forget it i lost count.

Face the facts life is hard, but it has a purpose, to make you stronger, you just have to get your head straight and go see a competent physio that can put you back on track with your broken arm.

Did you look into prolotherapy (ligament strenghtening), this has helped me a lot with my upper back and neck pain, also with my shoulder that hurted like hell.

It can also help stabilize the spine with strong ligaments then you can strenghten the core muscles.

    Good luck on your rehab.

Since we are throwing things out there so the OP doesnt go into depression due to a broken arm (LOL)
    Let see,
    Myself:
    1985 3 ruptured disk. L3, L4, L5. 2 surgeries (2005/2007) on lower back and they want to do a fusion on L4, L5
Hepatitis B in 1990 that literally almost killed me.
    Father died in 1996
10 yr old nephew was murdered by his father in 1996
    First wife died in1996
    2nd wife died in 2006
Broke up with long distance Fiancee in 2008
Torn rotator cuff they want to do surgery on now. Dont want to

Yup we all go through sh*t

Im sure I can think of me LOL

I will look into the prolotherapy also, sound interesting

For my back and shoulder though the thing that has helped most is using DSMO. Google it.

I understand that everybody has at some time has had a sports related injury.

I now understand that there are members here that have it worse than me and I mean worse injury, but in time I’ll recover and deal with the pain. The unemployment is a setback, but there are college graduates that are living in tents on the street and even a Doctor that is cleaning outside for money and is living on the streets. I still have a roof over my head and food to eat. I remember when it was warmer, I seen a young muscle man running, but from his right elbow down had no limb there, and I thought to myself that, I at least have all my limbs.

I will recover and, I’ll practice martial arts and body build. Since I am still recovering, I decided to work on diet and in short time I lost 9 pounds of fat. Diet is important and that’s all, I can do while recovering. Losing body fat will help me get in better physical condition to train in multiple martial arts. I have been looking around this forum and everyone is into sports and everyone at some point has had an injury. The injury itself is a setback, because I think I’m losing the strength I had and will continue to lose strength until I’m able to lift again. I’m losing my gains, because of injury.

I'm gonna need luck with rehab.

Sadly lovbyts i remember your back injury stories quit sick and sad at the same time, any comfort my grand mother had a fusion done way back in the days, she ruptured L4L5, and she never felt better after ward, of course she did 6 months of rehab and physio and back strenghtening exercises afterwards.

Prolotherapy will not take care of a hernia but it does wonders really to strenghten the ligaments which is ofter the cause of many issues. I can honestly say that prolotherapy saved my life after all the chiros, osteo and other morons that i saw that told me so much crap.

The spineforce is another device that people should look into its strenghten the inside deep muscles of the whole spine, neck, muscles you cannot strenghten with weight training.

Its very big in France, but there are many spine force machines in the US and in Canada now.

Losing gains is not important because muscle memory is a proven fact, i have been on the bench for 8 years, i have been training now for 6 months straight which is a record for me, and i am still amazed that i can weight lift again.

Of course its a trial and error, you might never be able to get has strong has you where, but there are others ways to build muscles then lifting heavy weights.

Its always good to stay around your ideal bodyweight, for me I went up to 230 when i was injured.

After starting weight training again i went down to 215, i cut out sugar, eat less, drink green tea, and now i weight in 207. I plan to get down to 185 and when i have total recovery of my back, get into martial arts.

Thanks for the information. I will look into it for sure. My pain has slowly started getting less due to the DSMO and I think squats of all things are helping but I will still look into the spineforce.

OP in regards to other problems, Like I said there are things I forgot.
When when my first wife died I was laid off from work for 1 1/2 years I could not find decent employment and my daughter was 2 yrs old when her mother died.

I was laid off again 3 years after finding another job for almost a year again but I did re training during that time.

I never got depressed. It's all part of life. Yeah it sucks and may seem unfair that is why you have emotions, cry, scream, get angry but always know you will get through it and life goes on. Make the best out of every situation without ever hurting anyone else.

I went through a depression in my 20's because of an injury that put me on workers comp. I sat at home feeling sorry for myself, and the depression can eat away at you.
Change up your daily routine. Find something you like thats positive. Keep your head up because things will get better.
Youve been set back because of this, but your not out of the fight unless you give in.
Stay positive, and feel free to ask our opinions whenever you need it.
Hell.....Ive asked for marriage advice on here before, and this is a good place to go when you need advice for anything that men go through.

OMG you still squat??????????? i stop doing those, i deadlift but around 100 pounds real slow and make sure my form is perfect, squat put to much pressure on my neck and i am afraid they put enormous pressure on the disc of the spine.

You are right about everything else, but when i had my burnout due to verbal abuse by my supervisor the IT team we where with sufferd abuse has well and this guy reall stired up shit for nearly 4 years, all that rage , pressure and everything seeing that my boss never did nothing to stop him got me really depressed. When i went back at work it was ok for 2 months then they found a way to make it legal and cut my job.

I was devastated to see how evil human being could be, and life will get back at them. I admit that this hit me very hard.

Today i realize that this place is a shit place and i am glad not to work there anymore.

I JUST started doing squats 2 weeks ago. I also though it would make it worse and have been avoiding it for the last 2 years since my last surgery but someone else mentioned how many world class lifters who squat have had ruptured disks also. So far if anything it seems to be helping. Yeah go figure. I have not started dead lift yet but I will incorporate that also soon.

Yes you are right, people can be evil and I have the same mind set. If someone fvcks with me I just put the on my list.

Squats are to build the core and stablize the spine, has i said me they give me neck pain, but deadlift are also amazing to build core muscles, buttock, hamstrings, lower and upper back.

Well people who fvuck with me i tell them off, i mean what kind of a man are you if you feel the need to suck up all the time to the boss or company owner right. I know that i would not feel right doing that, i have seen so much sucking that it can last me for a lifetime.

Lesson leaned your health is a lot more important then a stupid dumb job.

VERY true, I blew my back out at work, doing drywall. I was alone so I wasnt trying to impress anyone except myself, trying to do the best I could and most work on the shortest amount of time not only physically but trying to always things of ways to do it quicker in a better order. So much for that....

Yes, when it comes to lifting of any kind be SMART. Even if you lift weights like I did all it takes is doing the same wrong movements over and over and eventually it will go. Damn 24 yr olds who think we are indestructible and pay for it the rest of our lifes

I agree, I dont suck up either. I never learned to play golf

yeah boys your both right, integrity and your moral grounds is where you stand and your a man and dont need to be treated like dog, where you have to obey or suck up like a servant that was ancient times not in this modern day.

As for lifting you gotta do it smart well i learnt that now and it is actually too late for me, now i cant squats.

well i choose not to squat or deadlift specially with five buldging discs.

i cant train my upper body due to my sternoclavicular injury, but i still do what i can.

things like arms, bit of legs like leg press, lunges.

and plenty cardio to keep looking lean..

but hey its better than nothing and im happy to say thank god im still walking and i can do what i do.

i did these injuries at 19, some from car accident and a lot from over the years of training wear and tear..

started at 13 training was not good idea, but i was massive at one stage hehehe..

Has we grow older i am 37 this year its better to keep ourselves lean, I have seen many of my old school buddies now with kids and family get absolutely fat out of shape. Me I am back to good eating habits and on the road to 185.

The spineforce machine is really good, working up to 80 muscles at a time, i got my treatment today and i am wrecked, abs, lower back upper back and you name it I am sore has hell.

    Its working good.

Yeah i did some deadlifts but the physio that train me with spineforce said it might be a good idea to drop that exercise along with squat and do leg press instead.

Along with prolotherapy my posture is a lot better then it was too my ear is aligned with my shoulders and my posture is getting A1.

My main goal is to get back into martial arts one day if possible after i find a job look up a school maybe in March of this year, i still have prolo to do and around 15 more spineforce treatments.
