Are you talking rotator cuff surgery? They want to do that with me also... Keep us updated and I hope you have a fast recovery.

I have been having pain for about 6 months. I have had 2 MIRs done. One thing I have done that has helped a LOT is to use DMSO (google it) My pain is down 80% from what it was. Im going in for acupuncture next week also.

What are the long term implications of having a bursa removed? I'm having bursitis problems in my shoulder/bicep area...physical therapy doesn't seem to help.

    Thanks bud!
I am staying positive, and doing my rehab as recommended.

Can't wait to hit the gym again.. Weird how you miss things you can't do!

Actually I have no idea. But the bursae works as a cushion for the muscles that go through the acromial space.

When and if you have the bursae removed I think they will likely to have an subacromial decompression aswell (remove a bit under the bone where the bursae used to be, to avoid getting the tendons/and muscles rubbbing on bone!

    Day 5

Always feels a little sore/pain when I get up from bed (I guess from the immobility and probably rolling a little to far on my bad shoulder).

It gets better right away when moving around..

Pain has improved alot, first 1-2 days pain was definatelly the worst.. it has gone down well atleast 50%, so thats good.

Mobility has gone from not beeing able to do pendel movements for more then a couple of centimetres to a good half meter.. so Not bad here either.

I'll begin my physical therapy in a weeks time, and looking forward to beeing healthy once more!

    Cheers

    Everthing moving along.
I'll get off of the painkillers today. No need taking them when I don't need to.

    Day 7.

Stopped painkillers yesterday, feel good about that.
ROM and pain is getting better everyday, in small steps.

I am feeling good about this, and would do this surgery in a heart beat if I had to do it again.

I thought it would be really bad, but it really is'nt. Felt way worse pain from other things!

    Day 8.

Always sore when waking up, wonder if I am sleeping on the shoulder.. I sleep so ****ing deep it's no telling what I do when I sleep.

Getting better all the time though!

Manwitplan - how are you getting on following your bursectomy? I had a Bursectomy exactly two weeks ago and I'm starting to wish I'd never bothered. Can't lift my arm above head height without painful grinding popping sensation.
