    keep hair laying flat

Hey, guys. I plan on growing my hair out this year (maybe like 4 inches long). I've never had my hair longer than maybe 1 1/2" all my life, but when I did have it that long, it was really "poofy". I have naturally thick hair as well so I bought some hair thinning shears to thin it out a bit over time.

I'm looking for the laid down, flat look. Is there anything I can do, any shampoos, any other supplements I can use to achieve this look?

    Thanks!

Redken has a great "polish" product. I have my hair long now and it is very dry and "poofs" up after I shower and dry my hair. I use this and it works perfect. It stays soft, give alil hold, and also makes it look like healthy moisturied hydrated hair. Its kinda like a morph between vasoline, show polish, and some type or hair crew that stays soft. Every salon ive been to sells this. If you get it let me know what you think , Im pretty sure its exactly what your looking for. Also if you wet your hair and use a alot you can get the slicked back look like bradley cooper in the hangover, but it wont stay all night like I said this product doesnt get hard

I a huge thing is that you want to use conditioner as well. Conditioner does add body, but when you use certain products, it creates essential oils [that's why if you have ever noticed your hair gets greasy quicker if you use conditioner and not shampoo]

depending on the look you are going for [shiny or dry] American Crew has great products, so does matrix. Also, redken said above is great too, but for your look American Crew Pommade or Paste will work wonders.

A good idea, is to go to a salon with pictures off of the internet of hair styles you like, and they usually have the know how how to a) style it that way and b) which products to use.

    Hopefully this helps!

Try an organic conditioner..since they're made with oils they tend to be a lot heavier, if you leave them long enough they can definitely flatten your hair while still making it shiny.

Paul Mitchell also makes a Super Skinny product, that definitely removes all the volume, but it makes your hair kinda..waxy, might want to try it anyways.
