    Blown out l5 S1

    Hi guys,
I have been suffering from low back pain for 2 years now and over the last year it has become intolerable if i lift any heavy weights at the gym. I recently had an mri done and it shows that my l5 s1 disk is severely compresses and bulging to the front and back. When i had the mri done i was in a lot of pain as it had only been about 3 weeks since i had aggravated the disc. I have seen 2 neurosurgeons and the both say i need spinal fusion to fix this. The first surgeon wanted to do it through my back which did not sound very good as i believe it would be a very long recovery. The second one would like to offer an noninvasive surgery which would involve 2 1 inch incisions in the abdomen and then would go in arthroscopic or laproscopic not really sure which is which but he said it would be an outpatient procedure and that i would be home the same day. He said the procedure would take about an hour and a half and that i would feel better one week post surgery than i do now. He also said that i would be able to return to work in a couple of weeks with restrictions. Has any one heard of this procedure? It sounds almost to good to be true!

Back pain right now is the pain of the century, they have made tones of progress in that field. I did see this on the internet not sure what sit it was, i been suffering for 9 years but i have ligament laxity, and my MRI was very good.

I wish you good luck in this and hope you get full recovery, you will be limited as you say in weight training but at some point you will be able to get back in lighter lifting.

I am currently being treated with prolotherapy.
