bulging disk, army doc lying about bearing weight?

ok so i went to ortho spine about my bulging disk that ive had for almost a year. he told me that there is no evidence that weight bearing can make the condition worse. because of this he cannot put it on paper that i am not to be ruck marching. i already had it on paper not to bear weight from other people but he is changing it. he said we know running and situps and bad for the back but not weight.

so is he full of crap?

Anal sex is not the primary cause of hemmoroids, so i guess if you have them and your this guys wife its ok to have anal sex, ;-)

Sorry this is the second thread today, by an armed force individual who is getting bullshit from their medical staff.

There are a lot of things that a doctor or scientist can say there is no scientific evidence to show a certain conclusion. Big industry lawyers and doctors have played this game for ages, just because there are no A-B studies showing that a 60 lb pack will increase the chance of a disc bulging further does not mean that this is not the case.

Also I would ask him if there is also no evidence that pack marching will not slow healing...you might pin him in the corner on that one.

Bro if you have any back pain, its military protocol to give you a no run, no march profile until you have recovered. I would see another doctor and file a complaint with your chain of command as his actions arent inline with Military policy on the wellbeing of Armed Forces Members.

i do have a no run but yes probably a good idea. doesnt make sense because then why did i have no rucking for months prior to seeing him. i was trying to get a profile that lasted more than a month at a time and he administratively raped me.

your doctor is correct...technically. did he put pressure with his hands on the TOP of your head and ask you if you felt pain in your low back? don't say yes whatever you do because that is a TRICK that doctors use to see if you are making shit up. the human spin can endure a LOT of pressure vertically before and felt pain is observed or felt, even with back problems.

however, having said that, i agree that you should NOT be required to endure any type of additional load on your back that would cause you to hyper flex.

been there done that. two microdiscectomys under my belt and stil too stubborn too quit. but i'm very careful and protective of my back when in the gym. strict form always.

agreed. get a new doctor and file a grievance and follow the chain of command.

    good luck
