    Rotator Cuff Tendonitis

I got this last summer. I had to stop doing incline or any type of shoulder presses.

Eventually I took off about 6 months. Still pain but its manageable. Went to physical therapy which is always a waste bc most of them are terrible. Kept doing exercises to strengthen that they showed me and found on you tube. I still have some pain when lifting. It will be a year in a couple of months.

    Anyone else deal with this?

Yeah back about 2 yrs ago my right shoulder had a injury the same.
From what i understand the shoulder ball and socket is connected via four main muscles (front, rear, top and one underneath)
I was stupid and went too low too fast and damaged the front part of the cuff...
I went to several places physio, chiro and drs trying to find what would help finally got some advice...
My chiro said to train my shoulder doing rotater cuff movements using extremely light weight 20-30 reps not until fail though just extremely light... I stopped every other lift that my arms moved in (lots of leg workouts lol) it took about 14 weeks to recover properly and then started at rookie weights again just take your time...
The worst thing you can do is antagonise the muscle you need to let it repair or it won't and it'll worsen...

I hope this helps ya mate and good luck recovering!

I did what they did for me was they had to shave the bone, in both my shoulders would hurt do to the muscle build up and everything was inflamed inside.. I couldn't lift, and my arm would have limited movement.. Now I'm good...

I was able to work though mine once but stoped lifting and doing mostly the rotator cuff exercises for my right arm. Left arm was more serous and after a year I still couldn't lift. I had the surgery a couple of months ago and still recovering but slowly getting better. MRI with contrast dye didnt show 1/10 of the problem though. Doc said he was shocked once he got inside so it would not have healed by itself.

You probably need surgery, get an MRI. It will only get worse and cause more sever damage in the long run.

Get the MRI done but dont JUMP into surgery. It took a couple months for my right are to even start to get better. After a year of trying everything my left was getting better but I knew it would not get 100% without surgery ever. I would not jump into surgery without at least 3 months of doing a lot of PT, cable and light rotator cuff work first unless it was really torn and to painful to do anything.

Forgot I even made this thread because it didnt get responses right away.

I am happy to say that my shoulder is about 90%. The only time I have pain now is when I do shoulder presses and its very minimal.

I am going to keep working through it and get an mri at the end of summer

I had surgery on my ankle and knee about 18 months ago. I am in no rush to get surgery lol

I have been doing a lot of rotator cuff exercises and its def working. I think I hurt it original from punching heavy bag which I stopped doing
