Active Release Technique
Anyone have experience with this technique? Did it work for you? I have an ongoing injury to my right forearm that flairs up everytime I try to start weightlifting. Twisting motion with the wrist/hand really sets it off and I was thinking it is probably scar tissue accumulated over the years ( I am 50 y.o.). Thanks!

First treatment done. Can't say it did much but will go again Monday for the next round. He thinks it will only take 4-6 treatments to get relief. I certainly expected it to hurt a lot more...

I had it done for a couple of months. I cant say it was any better than a GOOD deep tissue massage. It's good in the way of stretching and pressure points but it's not as magical as it sounded.
Personally I like a GOOD deep tissue massage from someone who knows what they are doing because they do pressure point also and stretching but you get more out of it not just concentrating on one area.

Well after three visits the doc doesn't think he will be able to help. I had virtually no improvement and he said I should have noticed significant improvement after three sessions. He thinks I might have a micro-tear that is not healing properly and to try an MRI to see if anything shows up. At least he was honest and did not keep me coming back for more treatments ($$$) so for that I am appreciative. It was worth a try. I think my days of traditional weightlifting have come to an end. Guess I will concentrate on cardio and work around the tendenosis as best I can.

Actually ART works well when you throw your back or neck out. It doesn't supplement adjusting, but my chiropractor does ART first and then adjustments. Works well. But, that's not for tears.

Unfortunately it seems I have more going on than just scar tissue. It was worth a try because you don't know know until you try.
