    LOWER BACK - Deadlift Injury

I had been out of the gym for a long time and on my first day back I really over-did it. I lifted with my back like a retard on my dead lifts. Ever since that day the left side of my lower back has been hurting. I took about two weeks off from the gym thinking I don't want to worsen my condition but every day I wake up it doesn't seem to get any better. The pain isn't unbearable, I don't find it hard to get through my day. However there is no chance that I can start to lift again with this constant back ache. Last night I found it hard to sleep, I kept tossing and turning with that ache in my lower back. I don't have health insurance so I can't see the doctor. Any insight would be much appreciated, thank you.

    alleve
    sounds like a muscle spasm?
if so, you could start with simple situps to get the muscles pumping blood in that region again.
what ever you do, pretend you are my age and start off real slow, and then take it day by day.
but for me, i've been in this position before, and I don't wait til the pain goes away. I have to make it go away, and then only partially. I wake up every day with a sore lower back, pop and alleve, and then hit the showers.
pain has become a way of life for me. fortunately, mine is only arthritas in the lower back, so it's just pain, nothing really structurally wrong, so i have to force myself to work through it.
