    joint pain/cause?

saw a couple threads on what to do for joint pain bi, shoulder, knee. but my issues are from the elbow down into the forearm. all workouts irratate it ex. chest, arms, back. my question is what's the cause? am i over training too hard/too much? just got some omega 3. was told thats the best for my problem. but im looking for the cause so i can try and prevent rather then treat.

Blood work is your best first step. Be sure to include a sensitive E2 panel and a CRP level as well. CRP is C-Reactive protein and is an inflamation marker for your body and high or low E can easily cause joint pain, loss of libido, etc.

Otherwise, for joint pain MSM Powder as a supplement does wonders.

Found out I have tendonitis in both elbows. Elbow wraps help out a lot. Also take msm and fish oil. Helps out a lot. Still have some pain but not near as much.

I had similar issues with my right elbow and forearm...it hurt for a week so I did the RICE thing for about 1 month...two weeks off completely and then slowly implemented light weight training for upper body exercises... I avoided deadlifts and pull-ups during that time too as I felt pain in my elbow area during just holding heavy weight. My arm will not extend fully idk why...went to the doc for ex ray and said elbow is fine. I said then why the hell can't I fully extent my dam arm? He said it might be tendon or muscular thing. My elbow is grinding and feels jammed at times. I also pop it a lot. Stretching has helped. It still gets irritated but it's much better now after a few months later...I still can't fully extend my dam arm but this doesn't prevent me from lifting. Just have to be mindful of the grip positioning on certain exercises to not compromise the elbow joint. I'll try the elbow strap...think I hyperextended it during tricep overhead ext

Sounds like classic tennis elbow. Take a couple weeks off from lifting upper body. Ice it for the first few days then in about a week start to put a heating pad on it. You can also take Ibuprofen(ex: Advil) to help with the pain and any inflammation you may have.

There's no need to take time off, I'm fine. Haven't had pain since I started the straps. ''Take time off'' no thanks man!

MSM has done wonders for my joints. Take at least 5 grams daily.

Unless you are seriously abusing it, i.e. over 1,000 mgs a day for weeks at a time, you're liver will be fine. Honestly you're on a steroid forum and worried about advil ruining your liver?

I take MSM and glucosamine with devil's claw, does me wonders. Of course it's no cure as when I'm off it for a week, pain slowly creeps back.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is much worse on the liver than ibuprofen. Ibuprofen will cause stomach issues such as ulcers if taken on an empty stomach so always eat something when taking it.

Something that help me a lot is a tennis elbow strap I got at Dicks sporting goods. Had anti inflame....help a lot but then ran out so I got the strap to try. Had knee pain as well and used one for knee. At first I thought I was gonna be wasting 15 dollars but it really helped. Now I won't do any upper body workout without it
