REHAB Quad Vastus Lateralis Muscle *knee surgery 25 years ago*
HI!
I am hoping some of you Vets can chime in and let me know what leg exercises I should do in order to get my 1 muscle closer in size to my other muscle..? I have attached a pic of what my legs look like now..
I had knee surgery on my LEFT knee when I was in 8th Grade, 25 years ago... As you can see, my left leg is considerable smaller.. I want to "rehab" the shit out of it so I can hopefully get it the same size and strength as my right leg..
I was told a few exercises would accomplish this.. While squatting, keep my feet closer together AND Leg extensions however point my toe inward to sort of "turn" my leg to one side so only that muscle is getting the workout.. Maybe Front Squats too??
Thank You in advance for any info you can hook me up with!
K
YES, that is a scar on my right thigh!

That would imo cause you to damage your knee all over again by forcing yourself into unnatural movement patterns.
Better to do single leg work like split squats to even out development between your legs.

Agree ^^^
Single leg exercises will be best.
I recommend single leg, leg press to fully isolate.
And just like with any other muscle non symmetry you only want to train as much as your weakest muscle.
Even though your other leg can perform more you should only do as much as your weak leg.
ie weight, reps, and sets should be the same for both legs until symmetry is reached.
