Heard a pop in lower right side of back

Last night while doing seated cable rows with the full stack of weight in my thirsts set 6th rep I heard and felt a pop and was in immediate pain and couldn’t even stand up straight.

Hoping this isn’t too bad I’ve been icing it, heat pad, salon pas, Advil plus curcumatrix and magnesium.

Any additional ideas to help this heal quicker or atleast get me back to walking around without pain?

I'd be very careful about doing much of anything. IF you can gently stretch within your current range of motion, I would do that.

If you have a little range of motion, I would try lying on the floor with my feet elevated. I get the most comfort from lying on the the floor and resting my legs from the knees down on the seat of a couch.

If that works and you are comfortable that you have only strained and not torn or ruptured anything, I would consider some deep tissue work done with mild pressure.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. If you have any Voltaren tabs and Flexeril on hand, I would try them @ the normal dosage.

If there's any possibility that you may have torn or ruptured anything, continue the ice/heat therapy ( I like to alternate the two), NSAIDS, scrap the stretches and tissue work, and go see your Dr.

I hear a pop every time I turn my head/neck or twist now days. Hopefully it was just a normal pop and strain and not something worse. From personal experience (herniated L3 & L4, Ruptured L5/S1) having had 2 back surgeries and a lot of pain prior I would be using a lot of ice. 20-30 minutes on and 30 minutes off. Repeat 3 or 4x in a row and at least 2x a day. I never use heat anymore. Once you get use to the cold/ice it works much better IMO. Heat adds to the inflammation.

Yeah it’s getting better still not at gym, I had a 2 hour massage yesterday that really helped. Each day is better so I’m hopeful I’ll be able to workout again soon. Definitely not ready yet.

Do I really need to? Lol I’ve never worn a belt no matter how heavy the lift. Does this really help a lot?

my wife talked me into it months ago and I love it. i only use if for a couple movements but it def helps.

They are cheap, throw it in gym bag and give a try man. we getting older, little things like this will keep us lifting strong forever

Just ordered one last night package arrived this afternoon. Think I’m going to give the back a go Saturday evening or Sunday with a light workout. I was working out like an animal for 3 months virtually everyday which likely also contributed to the injury. I think the hgh is helping me heel faster too.
