    crackling knee

Hey guys, just looking for some info and maybe some ideas.
I am having a bit of a knee problem (yes, just one of them), when i walk down steps my knee sort of crackles, loud enough the have no problems hearing it, the knee is uncomfortable but not really painful. My training on legs is still ok but there is just some discomfort there and i really don't like the noise it makes.
Would you recomend streching more or are there any other ideas.
Oh, just to add, it is not like when you joint cracks, it is a crackling sound during the whole movement of the knee.

    Thanks in advance

It could be caused by your knee producing extra synovial fluid, which will elevate the pressure in your joint. Which can cause cracking sounds, but not much pain.

It could also be caused by cartilage or ligament tears but there is usally alot of pain with these.

Have you been doing anything different on that knee?

As for treatment i only could suggest RICE if its painful. If its fluid it might go down again after a bit of rest.

    Thanks mate,

I know it is not a ligament tear as there is very little pain, just some discomfort.
I have not done anything new, i would of thought of that straight away, it just came on about a week ago..

    Rice??????

    yeah brown rice is best...............jok

    Rest Ice Compresion Eleavation.
If you have pain or swelling after gym or something, would not hurt to do, should take some pressure of the joint.
otherwise only thing i can think of is to give it some time, or you could get a dr to look at it.

    Hope it gets better mate.
