    Triceps Hurt like hell

    Ok this isn't to much of an injury but I want to share my pain.

    8 days ago "Friday" i did triceps. I worked them hard like I normally do. They started to ach on Saturday then by Sunday I was in complete pain.

    Then yesterday "friday" I come to working them again. Oh my god I never had pain like this. Was so painful I couldn't even do an exercise.

    Burning and shooting pain in both arms but most worst is the left arm. its constantly throbbing all the time.

    Anyone else had this?

    Do arms once a week mate "every Friday". Changing exercise every week.

    3x biceps
    3x triceps

    I use as much weight as I can, aiming for 8-12 reps.

    Today they feel a lot better i must say

    How long have you been training?

    Does that mean 3 exercises or sets for each?

    When are your back, chest, and shoulder workouts in relation to arms?

    Thanks for replying mate.

    Triceps are a lot better now but still feel a slight ache when in the gym yesterday. having today off from training.

    Mon = Chest - 5x exercises 4sets with 8-12reps
    Tues = Shoulders 4x exercises 4sets 8-12reps. + 2x leg exercises
    wens = 4mile Jog
    Thursday = back 4x exercises 4sets 8-12reps +abs
    Friday = arms and triceps 3x exercises each and 4sets 8-12reps
    sat = rest
    sun = rest 4mile jog

    I have been training around 1 year properly. 4 times a week with a high calorie diet and protein shakes. I have been boxing 10yrs and a keen runner so was around 11st 7lbs at xmas gone "stopped boxing now". now 13st 6lbs with bf around 12% at a guess.

    any suggestions fire away regards the workout.
    Thanks again.

    Your workout split looks alright to me... Maybe instead of always doing 4 sets of 8 -12 reps of the heaviest weight possible, try mixing it up and dropping the weight down, but doing 25-30 reps and 3 sets per exercise... Should give you a better pump and with the increased tendon/ligament strain... If you're recovering now though, may not be necessary

    Thanks for your advice mate.,

    Triceps have always been the weak spot for me, ill try as you said. Its been 11days since the last time i worked them and i still feel the pain a very small amount when i strech them. I really must have worked them hard.

    Anyway all good from here on so thanks for replying to my thread dude. Respect..
