Your fine. It usually happens the first few times you squat or if you haven't done squats in a while. Basically, your shoulders aren't used to holding the weight so you get some popped blood vessels.

happened to me the first couple times squatting heavy....I get some red lines and popped vessels, try using the blue plate that attaches to the barbell If you find that more comfortable

This is not a good idea as the weight is focused on a singular point instead of evenly across your shoulders. You'll get used to the weight on your shoulders the more you squat heavy.

i dont think its really a sign of anything, cept maybe sensitive skin. a good workout is not measured by your skin's reaction to holding weight. whether ur squatting just the bar or 5 plates it could potentially leave a mark

    BINGO!!

Every workout I do, if I do squats, standing calf raise, or machine hack squats, I get them reagardless if I am using heavy weights or not.

Nothing wrong with you bro, I get those EVERY leg day on my shoulders. Mine are more of a hickey colored stripe though like someone mentioned above.

wearing a sweatshirt makes me sweat nicely & keeps my muscles warm..I'd rather sweat than be cold-especially this time of year. as for the blue plate thing...no thanks...dont like it. put the bar on your traps & get to work..suck it up.

I would say 99% you got that from standing calf raises.

i get that a little in the middle of my shoulder blades when doing flyes.
its where the skin gets pinched between my shoulder blades and the bench.
nothing at all to worry about unless they hurt

i used to use a pad when i squatted (yea tell me about it) after i stopped i would get those lines for 1-2months. now i dont get them anymore b/c im used to the weight. i think they looked pretty baddass though, and if i didnt get themi would work harder to try to get them again! haha
