make sure you lose it nice and slow that way youll hold onto as much muscle as possible. Stick at maintenance cals and up the cardio.

good stuff. I would probably look at upping the cardio to 30 mins. I have read that fat burning does not really start until glycogen stores are depleted, Some would theorize even during fasted cardio that it will take 10-20 mins of cardio to deplete glycogen enough for the body to turn to fat for fuel. 15 mins may help you with the cal defecit but probably wont take you into the fat burning zone.

Thats why I'm doing my Cardio PWO for glycogen depletion 15 minutes for now I'll be bumping it to 20 then 25 eventually then AM cardio just trying to get the feel for my needed caloric deficit right now without sacrificing alot of LBM... I'm mainly looking to get to the point where I know how many calories to a tee I need to maintain and fluctuate from that point...

I've always either dieted too hard or not hard enough...(mostly too hard) so I need to find that balance thats why I've decided to start 6 months out so I have some time to gauge my own body instead of rushing it..... Hopefully learning from this It will give me much greater control in the future...

-
02-22-2008, 08:22 AM #33
Its going great man! thanks for asking..... the weight is falling off me.... mostly water fluctuation right now my first weigh in was at 292... that was at the gym at night 2 days before I started my diet so I had been eating 5 meals already and I was fully clothed with shoes a little bloated 292 was my heaviest.... my next weigh in I was naked after a crap in the AM as I will weigh myself from now on for accuracy 286 I think.... then 2 days later 282... then 279.5 a week into the diet... right now I just weighed myself in kind of dehydrated (electric heat) 273..11 days into the diet...basically 13lb drop right now... but I'll tell you right now I'm definitely dropping fat with that water
Currently diet is looking like this
Meal 1:
Eggs 6 Whites 1 Yoke
3 servings oatmeal
25g protein from Whey
Meal 2:
Brown rice 50grams Carbs Brown rice/bean combo

1 serving of Natural peanut butter
Side note:
Fresh veggies snacked on during the day
Also I interchange the Yams and Rice/Bean combo Daily
I Also interchange Steak servings with chicken servings but never more then 3 servings of red meat...
Macro's
350g Protein
325g Carbs
80g Fat
Roughly 3300-3400 Calories... I'm not being a complete nazi about watching the calories exactly but I dont have to not competingLast edited by soulstealer; 02-22-2008 at 08:33 AM.

Oh and a quick update I just got Calipered for the first time in 3 months... Came in at 17.94% BF which is higher then I was last time I got checked (16.5%) guess I got pretty damn fat After 2 weeks of dieting and dropping a bunch of water weight that means I was prolly around 20% and Bloated to hell in those pics all good though means I need to drop about 25-30lbs....in the next 4 months...

How are you liking the 20 minutes a day 5days per week??? Do you feel like it is working good enough?? Thought about upping it to 30 minutes a day?? The reason I ask is because 3 days a week I do 20 minutes a day and 1 day a week I do a 5 mile run around my city. The results havent been that great.. dropped umm 12 lbs. in roughly 6 weeks.. i know it's good progress but I feel like I should be doing better thats why I am wondering about 20 minutes 5 days a week..
What's the intensity like?? i.e.- treadmill at a certain pace .. or sprint/jog sprint/jog...
Just trying to get a feel of what other of the Big guys around here are doing. Thanks
