Progress over couple of years
Ok, I decided to start cycling again after 17 years off.
I wanted that 20 year old body again. I never stopped training, just stop cycling.
But it just not the same getting old training with injuries and losing strength.
I am 45yrs 5'11" around 194lb. I have been training for 30yrs.
And have started using short 6 week cycles over the last two years.
Hard to make leg pics but they look proportional to the rest of my body.
I train for symmetry and looks not for size. But size does look good!
I have a few pic starting March 2006,
I was probably around 180lbs. Had rotator cuff surgery in Jan 2005.That was tough recovery!
Next is Nov 2006 Had tennis elbow surgery Jan '06.
Could not upload a May 2008 pic due to size, but improvement was minimal.
Last photos are end of Sept. 2008 was around 194lbs and just finished cycleLast edited by glover; 09-21-2010 at 09:30 AM.

Thanks guys,
I typically use NPP 75-125mg EOD, sometimes add prop 75-125mg EOD along with Var 40-80mgs ED
Cycles were:
3 cycles in 2008
2 cycles in 2007
2 cycles in 2006
1 cycle in 2005
Time off depended on recovery and mood. I like 6 week cycles I do not get additional benefits from longer cycles and recovery is easy for 6 weeks now that I am older.
After looking at what I wrote it seems like I was on longer. Just goes to show consistency may be contributing factor for me.

Great comeback! What impresses me more is that you kept training off gear for 17 years -- That's the kind of discipline we all preach about, and it shows!!
Cheers

I always used Var with my NPP and sometimes used all three. So cycles would be Var/NPP or Var/NPP/Prop or Var/Prop. Did one Prop/Tren /Winny for 4 weeks. Had to cut it short.

Man you look like that at 45...makes me wonder what you looked like at 25! It's results like this that give me the inspiration I need to continue to workout the rest of my life, for that I thank you. I was actually considering a NPP/Prop 6-8 week cycle. How important of a role does the Var play in your cycles? What does your diet look like...does it change on or off cycle? Sorry for all the questions but you look amazing! Oh and one last thing, ROLL TIDE!!!

i wish i can look like when i hit my 4o's. only time will tell .

Thanks, and Roll Tide! I am not really sure how the Var affects my cycles. I have always used a combination oral and injectable. I simply use Var because of the low sides. I use prop/npp because they create very little bloat.
When I was younger I took whatever made me grow. Now it is just lean muscle I want.
My diet is as strict as I can go. And yes since I have been off it is hard to be strict. I have put on a little more body fat but am still lean. My diet is the same on or off. You should eat a diet that you can do all the time. It should not be so strict that you have cravings. It should be your normal eating habits all the time. I don't bulk then cut. Just follow good bodybuilding diet.

Thanks for the info...if you don't mind me asking, what were the results from the last cycle you ran? What was the exact cycle and duration? How much weight gain? Did you drop body fat? Not sure if you count calories but did you keep your calories at maintenance, below, or above? Thanks for all the info.

I do not measure BF% but I do know it decreased. I think I was around 185lb at start. Got as high as 207lb now at 191lb. My guess is I am gaining around 3lbs of muscle for every cycle I do. I seem to have retained more size from this cycle but have only been off 2 months.
I just eat when hungry 4 or 5 small meals per day. No counting, no diet just maintaining.
Last cycle 80mg Var ED 125mg Prop & NPP EOD --- Nolva & Aromasin pct.
I seem to respond best around 1500mg total per week.

Damn, man - lookin tonk! good work. what's your workout schedule like 3-7 days a week? whats NPP? and always Test Prop?
awsome dude!
-
11-21-2008, 01:30 PM #29
Thanks man, Whats tonk?
Work out 4 days a week each body part ounce a week. Intensity is the key for me hard and heavy. Although lately go with 10-12 reps vs 6-8 because it is easier on my old bones and joints.
NPP is the short acting Deca . Less bloat, works faster and gets out of body quicker.

From the urban dictionary:
tonk
ghetto for strong or muscular
adopted from them tonka trucks back in the days (unbreakable)
dont mess with him IMO a supreme complement - you are an inspiration dude! ahairy one, but still an inspiration! hahahaha
NPP sounds good - any idea what the proper name is? how much do you pin a week? i hear you about the joint thing - I've got a coupla years on you! try glucosamine Chondroitin, bro.
BTW - that's impressive - only an onuce a week - talk about efficient workouts! LOL I cant spel either
