    Guess on BodyFat %

I was thinking about doing my first show this summer. Im getting married and have a million things going on. I have never competed before. Jan 1 I was close to 250lbs now Im 226lbs. Im looking for a close estimate on body fat. I jumped on a scale at Golds and it said I was 20%. Now Im no expert but I was blown away. Also if Im 5'9 and want to do my first show, based on what you see how much more BF would I have to loose and what weight class should I shoot for. The picture are some progression fron the first of the year.

I would put you, based on the last pics and not having leg shots, at around 9-10%

Agree, with above on BF Guestimate. With your current condition and weight you would have to drop down to light heavy (under 196 1/4) to get on stage.

You could possible come in as a Heavyweight but you would be at the low low end, you dont want to be 205 lbs going up against guys 225.

Trust me, EVERONE over estimates what they are going to weigh their first show. I am sitting about 6% in my Avi and that is pretty much the minimum condition you want to shoot for.

You got more than enough muscle to step on stage. Dont let what I said deter you. You are just in between weight classes. If you come in shredded in the low 200's you can stil do damage in the heavyweight class. Pick a small show and get your feet wet.

Weighed in at 190 that show, was 202 prior 48 hours before. You lose a lot of weight through water manipulation.

I am 5'10 so you are carrying more muscle than I am. Really think you should give it a go.

I really want to do it but my bride is stressin me out NOW I cant only imagine what she if going to be like the week or two before. Im afraid if Im carb depleted and dry I might decide to leave her at the aulter if she forgets to make my chicken or something. Not to mention what I will look like in my wedding pictures all pro tanned up.
It looks like Im 90days out.

My wife and I got married the day after her show last year and I did 2 shows the prior 2 weekends. If she is onboard it can be done but.......being this would be your first show and your wife is not competing I would take Phates advice and pick another one.

Thank you phate thats sound advice. She is not on board...lol I think I will take the advice. There is a part of me that hoped someone would step up and say you owe to yourself JUST DO IT... but that would have been bad advice. Now that Im taking a rain check let me know bros.... WHAT NEEDS WORK...

Nasty shoulders bro - do anything out of the ordinary for them? What's the story behind the tatt on the left of your abs? Looks unique.

Thanks dave, Im not sure about the shoulders, All I do is military press, side raises and finish with rear delt machine. Its funny my shoulders, traps and back come. I struggle with arms and chest... Its possible my shoulders developed because I was not training chest properly in my early training.

Yea I would for sure go novice, Based on what some of the other guys say I could loose another 20lbs or more. So I guess I would be a novice around 200lbs.
