thanks for the words guys. I had gyno from puberty and it has always bothered me. Most people couldn't notice it when i flexed, but when i was just standing there i could see it. I hated it for so long that i finally decided to get it cut out. The doc said I was "splitting hairs" but that i personally would notice a difference. Even the quick look i did yesterday after surgery, I can def see it is much flatter.
As for cost, it was out of pocket. It was pretty $$ but that is because i live in an expensive area, and the doc is very good (this is his specialty). I figured i spend enough money on so much crap, that i might as well fix something that has always bothered me.
As for the actual surgery, it was really easy (i was out). it only took about 45 mins (cutting time) they said. and there is very little pain. i was very mobile even a few hours after surgery, and i am going into work today. I have some pain-killers, but haven't really needed them. The only thing that sucks is that i have to sleep with my upper body kind of sitting up at 30 degrees (so that fluid doesn't collect). It just makes it a little hard to sleep. Oh, that and no sex or working out! ahrrgg!!
At this point i am very pleased. i am going for my post op. tomorrow and will update then. i will try to post some before and afters once i have a decent set (I will try to get the ones the doc took).
Over this sucks, but is SO much better than the knee surgeries i have had.

Draining bottles are not "absolutely necessary" but they help recovery a lot. any fluid build up is going to take a long time to go away (months), so they try to let it all drain out. I will have to have mine for only two days. surgery was monday and i get them out at post op on wed.
they aren't that big a hassle. i have to empty them a few times a day. so far i have gotten about 3 oz out of my left tit and 1 oz out of my right It was really slowed down now however.

The drain bags are a good idea, I had my surgery a few years ago & my doc opted not to use them, well within 4 days my left tit swelled into a big solid balloon, right side also had fluid but not as much. The pain was terrible from the swelling, it felt like the skin was about to explode at any time.
My wife drove me back to hospital were 180ml of red/purpulish fluid was drained out with a massive needle & jar. Draining was the kept up every 3 days untill no more fluid was building up.

Yes the drains are a good idea, although i only got about 100ml out of my left tit and about 40ml out of my right, that would have taken a LONG time to go away naturally. I am lucky as i don't swell much with any injury or surgery.
For the person who asked what the pink fluid is...it is blood. It looks that color in the plastic bulbs, but when you poor it out, it is deep red.
The only drawback to the drains are that they enter in my armpits and it is a little uncomfortable.
funny thing is my gf kept being like "do you dare me to taste it" I was like "NO" she kept asking so I told her i would save her some

Just saw my doc and got the drains out. Everything went well, and he said it looks good. I must say it is f'ing weird having them pull a tube out of your pec, not a good or normal feeling.
Anyway i still cant do sh!t for another 4 weeks...that is the hardest part...

Here is an updated pic. I forgot to try to get some befores from the doc. difference is minor and i am still swollen, but the nipple is def much flatter. I really like my pec from the side a lot more.
You can see the stitches of the incision and the bandaid in my armpit from the drains...

Looks much better. One of those things that hardly anyone but you notices, but it kills you. What did they actually do in the surgery? Remove glands? Lipo the fat?
And I didn't see a response to the cost, if you don't want to post publicly, would you mind PM'ing me.
-

They mostly just removed the gland. the doc said he did get some fat out too, but there wasn't much there.
Sorry i didn't respond on the cost, it was about 6k. That is at the very high end of this type of surgery, but i went to one of the best docs, and i live in an expensive area. someone could probably get similar results with about 4k. My friend actually went to see the same doc yesterday and he got a quote of 7.5k. i guess his is worse and it would be about a 4 hour surgery.
As for the healing it is really rapid. I was working from home that afternoon and then back in the office the next morning. I am 10 days out and if i went to a pool right now, very few people would even notice i had something done. The pain has also been very minimal.
The worst part is that i still cant get my heart rate up for another 2 weeks! ahhgg!

Thanks man.
As I hover around 10% or below, mine starts to show even more...
Out of pocket I assume? I guess it'd be a tough sell telling a doctor your nipples hurt/itch enough to get insurance to swing it.
It must be tough not training. Well worth it in the end though man, congrats on a successful surgery.
