My pics
What's up everybody, just wanted to post some pics and get some feedback. I really respect the info and opinions on here (no matter how brutally honest, lol). Here are my current stats:
32 years old
6'ft tall
180 lbs (from 165)
no idea of body fat, any guesses?
weight lifting for several years on and off...the last 6 months full time and serious
no cycling experience
I gained 15 pounds in 2 months starting back in October. I had NEVER weighed that much before and I attribute that to a dedication in my diet and leg exercises. I am a bit of a hard gainer but my body seems to respond fairly quickly to food and weight training.
Here are my current pics and I plan to post my progress in my hopes of reaching 200. I'm shooting for that number by summer. Not sure if its realistic or not but we'll see

Well, since nobody has bothered to comment yet, I'll critique myself. I have absolutely no back to speak of. I have some definition but no thickness and NO lats whatsoever. My back is top priority right now because of that. My quads also lack and I will be working hard to build up the outer portions and thickness.
Somewhat off topic, the pics are recent but about 2 weeks after these pics, I noticed that I am getting some fat around my waistline. I'm just about going into shock because I have never had that happen before. I guess my question would be should I just continue to eat and worry about cutting down later, or should I change up my diet to try to get cleaner gains. I don't have a "diet" per se because I was told that because I'm a hard gainer, I didn't have to eat as clean. Starting to think maybe that plan was faulty.
I primarily eat a lot of baked and grilled chicken, tuna, steamed veggies, pbj's and protein powders. I do not eat fried or junk food except on cheat days, which are few and far in between.
Also, I havebeen using BSN protein powder products but I noticed the fat contents are ridiculous. Maybe this is contributing? I am switching to OPtimum Nutrition Gold Standard for this reason. I'll just have to make up for the loss of calories.

you look good, but it's hard to critique with such small pics.
as for the diet, I don't eat as clean during winter, personally I bulk during winter then cut.

I know...I copied the URL from Photobucket.com and the pics were much bigger there. Don't know why they came out so small here. Let me see if I can figure it out.

Well, theres nothing to show for the back anyway, lol. As far as the legs go, I have been a gym idiot for years. I NEVER did legs and it shows really bad. Back when I first started lifting, some years back, I felt a really bad twinge in the area of a hernia when I was squatting. Scared the hell out of me and since I hated doing legs anyway, it gave me a reason to stop. Stupid, I know. Then I did in fact get a sports hernia earlier this year and opted not to have surgery. Even so, I am up to 315 on squats from 225, with only mild discomfort. So all that being said, I didn't do back either. Typical scrawny kid complex....went to the gym and did chest and tri's and nothing else. Now that I'm older, I want a more rounded physique. Let me see if I have this pic thing figured out:

yep, that did it. Clicking on these thumbnails gives a much bigger pic. Sorry about the angles, guess I need to recruit my girl to do some photography. Any advice on whether or not I have a good enough base now to start a cycle, or should I continue natty for a while?

Okinawa---thx man, thats reassuring. I think I will take the advice you guys are giving me and wait. Konateh, years?? Well I guess Rome wasn't built in a day. I'll try the delt suggestion too. I thought I had a nice cap to my shoulders but they r a little flat.
Oh yeah, body fat estimates? I'm also gaining a little extra fat around my mid-section due to the increased food consumption. I received some advice that I could pretty much eat almost what I want because I was a hard gainer. I'm seeing that may not be the case. Or should I not be concerned about that right now and just concentrate on gains for now? It's weird because I never carried fat before. I also think I need to cut back on the syntha 6 and Truemass...TOO MUCH FAT!

You think YOU have no lats? Take a look at my pics! If you have no lats, mine must be in the negative. Granted, the rest of my body is nowhere near your level of development either, so who knows how my lats would look if I were at your level. Don't feel bad bro, i'm suffering along with you on this one!

Yeah, luckily for me GBrice, the camera angle doesn't show how poor my lat development is. I'm going to get my girl to get a good shot of my back so you can see. I literally have NOTHING there. I have a tiny bit of definition in the rhomboid area and traps but they lack any thickness. Like I said, years of neglect but thats where the fun comes in. I can't wait to see where my quest will take me.
