5 weeks out from first contest

these pics are 5 weeks out from my first comp, taken on my 24th birthday. Stats are 5'10" weight was exactly 240 in shorts and t-shirt before pics were taken. All critiques welcome, I've never been to a contest, and don't know what to expect. It's a state show.

Holy-chamoly. You look fantastic. Wow 5 weeks out and you're that ready. It looks like you could walk out onto stage now.

The contest will be lots of fun. Usually at that level everyone is pretty friendly and in the same boat as you. You'll have a blast.

You look fantastic. I am trying to find a weak area to critique but it is hard. Your legs may slightly overpower your upper body but it ain't by much. Your shoulders are amazing. Kind of hard to tell about your back from the pictures you have submitted but I am impressed. Let us know how the show goes.

It's all a matter of opinion, of course, but when I look at the first photo, I see somewhat the opposite, as it seems to me that his quads are sandwiched by wide shoulders/complete chest and amazing looking calves. In that regard, I think the synergistic effect of all that is that his quads (which are no doubt impressive) tend to be lost in the mix, and look a little smaller than they (likely) actually are. Again, that's just what I see from those pics.

And, of course, good luck in your show...if you don't place very well it must be one AMAZING state competition.

man, you looked ripped. Just don't do anything drastic to mess this up. I've seen a few guys ready way ahead of time and end up looking like crap at the show. I wouldn't even bother carb depleting or anything and just try to stay were you're at now. Once you drop what little water you have, then you'll look like a real freak
