    I was wondering if it had changed... Admittedly, I have been elsewhere for a while now, but 50 seems a bit much.

    there is no waiting period. it takes 25 posts here to be able to PM. What happens is that once you hit the 25 post mark you get filtered into a new usergroup enabling the pm feature. vBulletin occasionally messes up, things happen, etc. still it is set to 25 posts, simple as that
