    AR Sloooow

Every time i use AR it seems to get slower and slower. Got 10mb broadband and loads of space on my pc and all other sites seem fine.

    Any reason for this?

What browser and version are you using? Have you made any changes from the default settings? There is nothing wrong with this site - it goes pretty flippin' fast considering the traffic it gets... especially if you are using a broadband connection to the Net.

Problem with IE is Microsoft has gotten kinda cocky in releasing a newer version - I believe they have had version 6 out for a long time (I think it first released an initial Beta version of 6.0 in 2001!) - a lot longer than most software (especially software with adequate competition) would last until a new update comes out.

They are suppose to finally come out with a new browser with their Windows Vista release this year... which will have a lot in common with what's already available, FireFox... like tabbed browsing - and I deffinitly see FireFox loading pages faster (probably better caching files being created)...

Anyway, try this browser with your broadband: FireFox

Otherwise you can try a clean install of Internet Explorer 6... make sure to download the latest version....

yeh i always use firefox, and also if you have to much stored in your computers memory this will dramatically slow its performance.

Since i've got 2gb of ram I shouldn't have a problem with that, but that is a problem people experience. If you play a video game or copy a load of huge textures, the memory gets chocked up and it slows general performance I agree.

Just installed and trialled Firefox for an hour or so. It's much better.

Thanks, warrior, and congrats on your bump to mod.

And another one leaves the wrath of Redmond Haha... yeah - I find it faster too... and you can get a bunch of goodies for it... like the Google tool bar...

Did ya try the new tabs thing? You can have more than one site open in one window... so you don't fill up your whole task bar with open windows...
