Can't upload photo for avatar

Can somebody tell me why I have never been able to upload a photo for my avatar.

Everytime I try it always says "this is not a valid image file" and I size it to fit the requirements too.

What gives??

The file has to be 200 x 200 pixels and no larger than 19.5 KBs. Use an image editor to resize the file to meet the requirements.

While resizing can take it to 150 x 150 one must be conscious of the storage 'quality' selected.

e.g. Adobe photoshop has varying pic qualities.. each one resulting in a different storage size output.

Also, colour information can cause the file to be 'too big'.

I had a file that was the right dimensions.. but the colour information caused it to be more than 19.5 kbs.

I dropped to grayscale and it fell under the limit.

In photoshop after you resize the file to the correct pixel dimensions use save for web to save as a smaller file size.

Damnnn you computer geeks.......LOLOL I will try to post it here and someone can resize for me that would be great. Everyone is getting tired of my avy adn HORSE is calling her Lizard Lips.....lolol

It seemed to have let me change my avy without resizing this time, but I tried the same pics before and it wouldnt.

That is what I don't understand........My picture is smaller than 150x150 and 19.5 KB and it still says not a valid image file.

Narkissos..it is a jpeg file and no it is not an animated one and I don't know what else to try.
