How to add a signature?

I don't see any options for creating signatures in the user cp panel.

sorry you cant, only users with colored username can have a signature.

it has nothing to do with posts, Only the Staff has colored names ("Monitors/Mods/Vets/Admins")

What is required to achieve VET status? I only ask because I have it at several other bb boards, as well as MOD/SuperMOD status.
