curious if entire thread can disappear?

there was a thread in the past few days something like... " so you think you want to give advice on the forum..."... and I think it was originally posted by Big----where on earth is it? I commented on it yet it is not on my list of post--so---I am curious if an entire thread can simply disappear and if so how can this happen? I am simply curious and have been looking all over the place for it and more than anything I would like to stop looking for it since it is bugging me more than anything else! Thanks to anyone who has any ideas as to how this happens---again---I am not upset at all---just wondering----
