    Work vs working out

I'm new here so I have a lot of question but I wanna start by saying I'm an iron worker I work a strenuous job 10hr a day and it's pretty intense like a all day workout the go to the gym after work

I'm 37yr old I'm 5'9" 170 and I'm descent shape and I've been on and off gear since my early 20s but never had any knowledge on diet or anything for that matter just flew by the seat of my pants

Now I'm in a spot in life we're im financially able and fully committed to my workout diet gear and goals my first question is if I work the way I do and as much as I do is it gonna hinder my gains or help and is there anything I can do extra or should I even worry about my job having a negative effect and just eat more at work

    Welcome Pitera!

Work is work. No doubt what you do is strenuous. I'd advise to hit up the Nutrition Forum and post your goals and let the guys there straighten things out for you. Can't beat free Nutritionitst! When it comes to the gym, less can be more. You don't have to be there every day. Remember we grow at home when resting and eating. Plus not having to go every day is a big mental break that allows you to have more of a life as well. Work out as hard as possible when there, get in, get out.

I've found as I've aged, and I'm much older than you, that less truly is more. I train EOD now and have been able to make progress and maintain size much easier this way. Look into some HIT style training for a change. Visit Marcus's Diary in the Lounge Forum and read up.

Some days I go to work 15lbs heavier than when I get home. Its a real pain sometimes. All I can say is eat like its a career and stay hydrated at all times. When I have really tore my body down at work, sometimes I dont lift for a couple days until I heal.

I tooke protein snacks to work like tuna sardines etc. It helps a lot.
