Hey all!
Hey guys (and gals)! I'm a 21 year old college student. I used to row on the junior national team, as well as for my college but decided to quit a few years ago and have since been focusing primarily on lifting. I've been lifting since I was a freshman in high school (now a junior in college). I have always though about AAS and would certainly like to try it once I'm 25+ (when blood tests start showing my t-levels are going down).
My biggest problem is being on a quarter system, I have way to many breaks when I end up not working out, and so my progression hasn't been nearly as good as I would like.
I also have a weird tendonosis/itis in my left tricep which I believe is due to a pinched nerve in my back, so I go on and off with squats, and also it has kept my bench press at a stagnant 155 lbs give or take, for about 3x5, but then I can also do that for 4x8, and for some reason can't up the weight significantly for a 1rm. I don't know why. My best deadlift was about ~400 for 1 set of 5. Now I'm working back up to that, most recent was 295 x 10 (deadlift has always been my best, probably because of the rowing).
Right now my biggest goal is figuring out my diet, which is tough with a college dining hall where it's particularly difficult to figure out calories etc. Last year I put on a ton of mass, but also had a huge belly. Then lost it studying abroad, surfing and not working out. So now I'm trying to regain that muscle, but without getting fat. Currently I'm 6' 3.5 and 227 lbs (fluctuate between 225-230).
I'm currently running a PPL split, which I got off of reddit as one of their recommended routines, used to run an Upper Lower, but decided I wanted to spend more time on specific body parts.
Sorry for so much text-would love to hear anyones thoughts, advice for young guys, etc.
Thanks!
