Hi to all! Might as well jump straight in - I've been back training for four months after three and a half years off due to illness. I am enjoying, and have got the bug again. My spur to get back to it was to get fit for the next rugby season as I also started back playing this last year and, as you can imagine, proved to be very unfit. I made an attempt at training in the gym late last year, but tried going at the pace which I left off, and consequently lasted two weeks before packing it in and heading down the pub. This time I started off slow, training three times a week, doing one exercise per body part with light weights. Four weeks of this I koved up to 4 days a week and two exercises per body part, four weeks later up to five etc. At present I am back up to strength in my biceps, triceps, delts and chest, while my traps, lats and legs are lagging a little but are coming along. I am also suffering from an old injury which has really reared it's ugly head after a short run I had recently, and as a result my exercises have been limited by my physio. Still, we must smile in the face of adversity and get on with it as best we can! So that is my plan.....as well as going to see an osteopath as soon as I can afford to!
