Wink What Going On? I need Help!

I am a 30 y/o male, i am extremely overweight 6'1 315. I have never had a problem losing weight but i find not that i am 30 i dont lose it the same way i used too. My doctor gave me phentermine and i have been on it for 2 weeks. I joined this forum with the intent of gaining knowledge on how to keep the weight off. This phentermine only allows me to eat once a day. I know that is bad but I wanted to do something drastic to shock my body for the 1st 10 or 15 lbs. I started in the gym again, doing mostly cardio. I feel like iam wasting my time lifting the weights because i really dont know what exercises or how many, sets, reps to do. I am on a limited budget, so I cant buy alot of supplements or vitamins. I tried clen/cyto before and it didnt seem to work that well for me (oxyflux?). I eventually want to use other means to get swole , and i have access to them. I guess i want to know if anyone can guide me to a good workout plan, and when I can begin using the other methods, and which is good to start with. I dont want to get huge, just cut.

Wow, I will let one of the vets break this one down, because everything is so broad. I would say about the one meal a day, that can't be good for the body. You'll be burning muscle and fat at the gym. That will shock your body, but I don't think in the long-term it will help. Sounds like your looking for a quick fix, instead of a lifestyle change. The harder you work, the more you'll appreciate the finished result.

First off.. welcome to the board.

Secondly.. this forum is strictly for introductions.. not the asking or answering of questions.

My advice would be to review the diet and workout forums.. read.. and then post threads in these forums to answer questions which present themselves AFTER you've done some reading.

Did you request the appetite suppressant or did he just give it to you? What was his rationale behind the prescription?

You have no idea HOW bad.

    BAD!

1 meal per day will not 'shock' your body positively. Anything you 'lose' you will regain.. plus more... because your metabolism will plummet at one meal per day.

You're wasting time if you DON'T include a weight-training component. Hire a personal trainer for 6 weeks and learn the exercises. If that's too expensive check out the workout websites and learn the exercises... read the charts etc.

Cardio only won't give you much of anything.

Cardio and not eating.. bah... You're spinning your wheels buddy.

    You don't need them.

You need food (ergo a diet); and a gym membership. That's all.

Drugs won't work if the basics aren't covered. Seeing you admitedly have no idea how to eat or workout out that'd explain it.

    Thanks Narc,

The Phen was prescribed, I was gonna get weight loss surgery but decided that as a 30 y/o man that was just a cop out. I used to have a personal trainer and got great results but gained all the weight back. I guess I just need a good kick in the ass. If you have the time, could you possibly e-mail me a good beginners work out regamine. I just wanna be able to feel a little more confident about myself in 2-3 months, and most importantly keep it off!

Loosing the weight isn't the hard part, keeping it off is. To do that you [B]have[B] to make permanent lifestyle changes, the key word being permanent. It's tough but if you want it bad enough you will make it happen. Good luck bro & welcome!

Go luck bro, take it all in stride. It is very easy to burn out fast and lose focus. Set short-term goals or you'll become discouraged

Welcome to AR and check out the diet forums to help you with proper eating, not once a day, which is so bad for you.
