    Bill from Arizona

    Hi my name is Bill,
Thank you to all for taking time to post your experiences and info. I have just been working out again (on a serious basis) for 2 months. I'm 45 and have been overweight for the last 15 years (by at least 20 to 30 lbs). I had tried unsuccessfully to lift weights over the years, but kept coming up against shoulder pain and would quit. I have come to realize that I have atrophy and I am working on resolving it through excercise. Basically my rotor cuff muscles are weak and need strenghtening. I've dropped from 210 to 193 since april 15th. I'm eating sensibly 6 meals a day every 2.5 to 3 hours. I still have another 10 pounds to go to look good. I'm 5'7 and by goal is to simply enlarge my chest and someday see that six pack that is hiding behind the fat around my midsection. I took a trip to mexico and tried my luck at get anavar at the pharmacies, but that didn't pan out. I did pick up some Clenbuterol (enough for 20 days at 60mcg ED). This is a test run to see how I do. I have been careful watching my blood pressure, heart rate etc.. expecially when working out. My heart rate is still low as ever when I do cardio, but I have had much more endurance with the Clen (I also use a scoop of xplode). I drink at least 3-4 gallons of water a day (living in the desert and working outside requires it). I have recently added ***** 3 fish oil to my diet which includes a triple strength glucosamin chondroitin complex, 360 mgs of potasium, Whey protein, and a liquid multivitamin. I've ordered some testerone booster to try out and see how that does. Anyway thank you all again for sharing, and thank you to the people spending their time running this board.

Welcome Bill. I lived in Scottsdale when you could carry a gun and the horses had the right of way and their were no stop lights.

Question: Are you taking a 'statin' cholesterol pill. I was and thought I was
getting arthritis, I even complained about a rotator cup. Soon as I stoped
Zocor 2 week later I was a new man. Just though I would mention that.
sometimes side effects form pills are the bad guys. Good luck and Welcome!

Thank you for mentioning that. No I haven't used any sort of cholestrol pill. My evaluation from a trainer (who is studing to be a sports medicine doctor) was that it is atrophy. I'm working around it by using more cable weight equiptment for working chest, arms and other parts at the gym and light weights and excercise directly on strenghtening my rotator cups. I am going to a bjj class 3 times a week (which doesn't really help the matter but gives me more incentive to correct the problem as quickly as possible). If I were to just stop lifting weights than the pain would eventually go away," but being fat and out of shape is no fun"

    Introductions

Thank you all for introducing yourselves. I'm going to try and read a little bit more each day from the forums and educate myself before asking questions. I've still got to take some photos of myself so I can have some comparisons to show off for the new me. I'm so happy to be getting back in shape again.

Absolutely not. I'm too old for that and I don't have the heuvos. Most of the guys I'm training with (like myself) are doing it to stay in shape and because we love watching the sport. A lot of people come and go because the amount of time our class puts into conditioning alone. I was told that many of the students who train there often win matches against superior competitors on conditioning alone. So I tough it out.

I don't really know anything about the other schools. I'm just a newbie myself (two months in). I do see people in the mornings getting ready for events. They have the events once or twice a month at the local casinos. I went to one of the Rage in the Cage events about 3 years ago. I see a lot of people practicing boxing or mui tai there too. Anyway I did try one other school for a month, but the hours they were set up I could only go once a week. So the most important I thing figure is to just get in a school that has the hours you can attend and is (hopefully) close by. I spent 98% of the time getting my butt wooped by everyone, but I'm getting better. Now it takes at least 5 minutes to woop my butt instead of 1. Ha ha ha

Very nice, good luck with that bro and keep it up. It's good to see someone get into the sport that's not intimidated by "the younger crowd" or being middle aged....Props Bill
