I joined the board because I struggle with body fat content. I heard/reead something I vaguely remember a few months ago about cytomel so I started reading comments posted in the forums about Cytomel.
I'm 37, 6ft 1. 248 lbs. 25% body fat, and a BMI of 33.6. I have excellent blood pressure and a slow metabolism. I can gain muscle mass in a very short time, with not too much work, but not uniformly so... in otherwords some areas develop very quickly but others take a bit of hard work.
I've spent about 20 years in the Army Infantry, I've been to combat twice. As my career is winding down, I've developed a NASTY case of shin splints over the last 5 years or so, eventually I got a surgery to try and relieve some of the pain so I could continue to train. No luck.
Basically as my ability to run for distance has declined my body fat as increased. I have to run a two mile test at least twice a year, at least for the next 6 years.
My idea is to find a way to shed the body fat, in order to become lighter, and in this way I hope to relieve some of the stress on my lower legs and knees. Currently I am under the gun, I have 90 days to lose as much weight as possible and take a PT test. I just failed my last one on Friday. The Army PT test is an easy piece of cake, it's composed of three timed events, the Pushup, followed by the sit-up, followed by the 2 mile run. The first two events I can pass hungover and on no sleep (I've done it), the last one - I get beat by guys that are older and fatter than me - due to my lower legs.
I've deduced (rightly or wrongly) that the weight of body fat on my frame is about 62 lbs. If I can drop 30 lbs - I'd be happy.
Currently thinking of taking enough protein via diet and supplements to maintain 186 lbs of muscle. I'll try and get 1 hour solid of cardio every other day, and continue to do push-ups/dips, and various abdominal work.
I am pondering the use of the smallest dose of cytomel and 15mg of phentermine at the same time - over 85 days. But while this might be helpful, I just don't have enough information to know if this is good or not. I am not interested in looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger, in combat this type of size/musculature is more of a liability than an asset. If anything I'd like to be smaller.
Okay, so thats me. I'll continue to lurk and read about cytomel, weight loss, etc. I welcome your comments and questions.
