    From Vilseck, Germany

Some of you have probably already seen my first post. I just saw this and figured I would introduce myself.

I'm currently 21 years old and stationed in Vilseck, Germany with the US Army (Infantry). I've been in for almost 3 1/2 years and recently got back from a 15 month deployment in Iraq.

I grew up and lived my entire life pre-service in Colorado. Until the age of 13 I grew up in various places in the mountains. When I was 13 we moved down to Longmont, and I started working out right before my Sophomore year of high school when I was 15, and I loved it. The end of my Sophomore year I got a job at the local hardcore lifting gym, and over that summer I gained 50lbs training with the owner.

I graduated high school when I was 16, worked as an electrician for a year, and the joined the military when I was 17, shipping out shortly after I turned 18. I stopped working out about 6 months before I joined because I weighed about 210 and was getting shin splints from running too much to handle for basic. After that and for the first 2 1/2 years or so I lost all motivation to workout, and basically became disgusted with myself. I'm sure many of you can sympathize with working out and feeling good about yourself, after stopping for just a couple weeks you start to feel... well, like crap.

Anyways ... About 5 months before I came back from Iraq, there I was at 175lbs. I started working out again in our small, almost inadequate gym. I quickly saw results and got up to about 180 while gaining muscle / losing fat from running and the missions we went on.

We got back and I was home on leave in November, while I was home I was working out and eating pretty good and got back up to 186. Now I'm back in Germany 3 months after being home and I'm 198lbs at 5' 8" tall.

Well! That's about for me. Feel free to leave questions/comments ;-)
