Hey all, I am here for an education.

    Hello,

I want to start off by saying that before I Registered with this community, I did quite a bit of reading throughout various posts and I have to say that I am sincerely impressed with the amount of intelligent information that is presented here. What really impressed me was that even the "dumb" questions were treated with respect and directed to the right answer, which is good because I am sure that I will ask a few dumb and obvious questions myself!

I must apologize here and now because I really thought that I would log onto this forum and find a bunch of meat heads bragging about the size of their gunz and how many hot chicks they get cause they are so awesome...

Seriously though, I see that I was ignorant and now I want to be educated.

    A little bit about myself:

I am 37 years old. 6ft 4in and 245 lbs. I have no idea what my body fat % is and not really sure how to find out, but I am not fat, but not skinny either... I have a bit of a beer belly without the beer lol since I don't drink alcohol at all (I don't do any type of drug either). I currently don't work out at all. I have 4 kids and I work about 60 hours a week (which consists of a lot of sitting on my rump) so I have let my body go quite a bit. I used to work out quite a bit until about 7 years ago. One of the things that attracted my wife to me was how in shape I was and how strong I was. Really though, since we started having kids I just had a total priority change and now I really want to get back in there and start weight training again.

As far as steroids go, I am curious I will admit, but doubt that I am in a place right now that they would do me any good. First I need to lose some fat and get to lifting again.

I plan to read up on the diet section, and then try to find a good one that works for me... I just cant stand to be hungry, I have dieted before and I HATE to feel like I am half starving myself.

Also, even when I did lift back in the day, I never really had a regimen, I basically just went from one machine to another until I hit them all 3x each then hit the showers, so I plan to try to figure out a good plan that isn't too complicated... I like to keep it simple, I don't like anything complicated or that I have to think about too much.

My main goal is to get back in shape and feeling good about my body again.. I know that I am not old, but 37 is getting close to 40 and I don't want to look like some of my friends when I get there so I have been thinking about it for about 6 months now and I think its time to get started. I have an appointment to get started at a Gym called Fitness 19 tomorrow, its cheap and close to my house lol so that's two good marks for them.

Well that's about it, I plan to be trolling these forums for the next couple weeks reading everything that I can.

    Good to meet you all.
