sup man, I hit abs every other day with different targeted exercises each time. I can list each workout if you want but for now i was just going to share my new found current ab exercise.
Apparently it's from a M&F issue from back when Gerard butler and 300 was the big topic (no pun intended) if you care to look it up. A friend showed me them a couple weeks ago and I love em because for me and many other people my lower abs are visible but lagging slightly behind the upper 4...It seems like they're just harder to hit.
Take your bar of choice, straight bar loaded with 2 25/35/45s, ez-curl with the same, pre-weighted ez curl bars, etc. either or into the cardio room or an area where you have space to lay and work freely. Also if a bench is available you can use that if it's not crowded and your confident in your ability to balance though i wouldn't recommend that until you've gotten used to the exercise.
You're going to lay on your back, skull krush, press, or have a friend lift the weight to the 'up' bench press position. the weight is there mainly to keep you balanced and provide a secondary strain while you're working your abs.
The 2 options you have at this point are windshield wipers: leg lift up the center keeping your knees straight, lower them at roughly ~45 degree angle to your left or right, raise back to the center and repeat for your other side - 1 count. naturally this will be fairly rough on the obliques.
or: simple leg lifts. Since I've started doing these regularly I've seen a few other people trying them as well. One piece of advice would be don't bring your shins all the way up to the bar which people tend to do. This takes the tension off your abs and brings more of your lower back into play. After you're 'comfortable' with the exercise you can also use the weight as heavy resistance in a jack-knife-esque exercise by slightly raising your upper body at the same time you raise your legs.
something to note as well is even if you're smashin abs hard they won't actually start popping like you probably want them to until you're down to single digits in body fat percentage.
enjoy the DOMS!

Welcome - From long island myself -
I will tell you, that you can get great abs from not working them at all.
The only ab exercises that I make my clients perform are core exercises like planks. Everything else comes from squats, deads, and stand up shoulder presses.
Welcome mate !
Welcome aboard
IMO best think for ABs is a great diet...
