    Another newbie!

I'm 33 and have been lifting since high school. I've never used anything you couldn't get at a supplement store, but have tried a lot there. Just a few years ago I was in good shape, a few years before excellent shape. I used to be 100% happy with my body and got to laugh off the non-stop steroid accusations. Now I'm the type that wouldn't take my shirt off at the pool. I'm 30lbs over weight. I'm tried all the time. I had a sprained ankle and wrist that took months to heal. I'm going downhill fast and I want to put a stop to it! I exercise and diet very well. At least I plan well. I don't have the energy to do what I used to do. I'm not a newbie in exercise/fitness, a I have education and experience.

I'm starting with albuterol, but I'm not sure where to go after that. I thought about seeing a Dr. for TRT, but I don't think my insurance would cover it. It specifically says something about not covering hormones used for anti-aging. I may try to do TRT myself or start cycling. I'm just not the same as I was 2.5 years ago. Any advice is appreciated.

My daily diet isn't perfect, but isn't terrible. I eat lots of protein and a balance of good fat and carbs. My diet isn't perfect, but isn't bad. Right now my diet is pretty close to what it was back in the days when I thought all the guy in the bowflex commercials had on me was a little better abs. I thought liked my build better than those guys everywhere else. I'm trying to limit calories right now, because if I had to choose between gaining mass and losing fat, I would rather loose fat first.

Yesterday I had a protein shake after my morning workout. Bran Flakes for breakfast. Lunch was a can of tuna on bread, carrots and an apple. Another protein shake in the afternoon. Dinner was 2 chicken breast, with plain baked potato. I did eat one of the cookies my wife made last night...ok I ate two. I take opti-men multi and fish oil. Breakfast an lunch are pretty much the same during the weekday.

My training is not what it used to be. I simply do not have the energy and drive I used too. I used to think it was that I don't have my ECA stack anymore. I stocked up before it was banned. I can promise you it is well planned and executed though. I've been studying training for 15 years, I'm a certified specialist with a degree. I do what I need to do, but my training sessions don't have the intensity I used to have. My program varies week to week on a 5 week cycle. I usually hit each body part hard 1 time a week and give it time to recover. I've been increasing cardio to support weight loose. I've also started using higher rep, low recovery time in workouts trying to burn calories more than build mass.

What crappy luck! Tuesday I dislocate my thumb which I put back myself. After it still hurting bad on Thursday, I go to the Dr. One ligament was torn off and some other things were torn. Now, I've had surgery and my summer of getting back in shape is delayed! I couldn't even convince him to give me a brace I could sweat in. Right now I'm stuck in a splint with gauze and ace bandage for 4-6 weeks.
