    Talking New member from SC..

hey yall. just wanted to introduce myself.

    call me Dave

i trained on and off for 5 years with the goal of being Mr.Olympia. then i got seriouse and really got into train hardcore. my best weight was 252lbs at 8% bodyfat. was about a month away from the Mr.Gainesville and caught a staff infection (merca).I didnt know it at the time and i kept putting it off as "i have a zit and its sore" untill my arm swole up and turn deep red and purple. My girlfriend at the time forced me to go in one night.they said if i didnt come in that night that i would have been dead cause it was attacking my heart and my brain.i cant remember the first week of me being in the hospital. was out for over 4 months without training (it took that long for the hole to close) and tried to go back to the gym. by that time, i had lost a good bit of size, put on 30lbs of fat, and i lost motivation.

Now, im trying to muster a "comeback" and get my Pro card. i have heard a good bit about this site from some buddies at the gym. i came here and have read a good bit and i just like how much support yall show to people. ive been back to working out for about 2 weeks.

cant wait to get to know people on here and help when i can.

never weighed it, but too much weight was on the nose, poor handling and no traction

    here she is;-)

some 10" wide tires in the back(thats all that will fit with factory rims).

and heres a idle vid. this vid was taken before my carb was turned( god what a suprise i found...75's in the front and 73's in the back *cringe*) so it wouldnt idle right. i was gonna get a new vid tonight, but camra crapped out on me. now, you can "hear" the cam a LOT more...

i plan on throwing some 2" drop spindles on the front and i want to try an at least lower the rear,if not make it level with the front. im gonna put some Cal-Trac's on the back, get some good rims and put 12" fatties on the back. just cause 10"s dont look cool enough.lol

man nothing sounds as sweet as a big cam in a V8, bet that's a blast to drive. yeah drop the rear and that will help with traction as well as the looks.

yeah...i went from a worn out 305 to this 355. the first time i layed into while i was going past my neihboors kids, it got sideways, i freaked out cause i wasnt expecting it, rode it out for about 2 acres, and got it straight....

later that day, after i got off work, the kids come over and tell me how "awesome" it was...told them "glad you liked it..i had to spray off a shit stain on the front seat.lol

I know what you mean there, I drove the vette in the pictures for 12 years with a tired 350 in it, it would spin the tires in the rain, that's about it. I tore it down and had it apart for a year when I put the built 502 in it and several other mods. the first time I got down on I found myself facing in the opposite direction before I even know what happened.

i bet! bigblocks have sooo much torque, its crazy. my buddie had a 427 in his 68' chevelle and it was BAD. made 752HP to the wheels. the cam was HUGE..its powerband didnt even start till 4200rpms and he had the bottom end balanced to 8500rpms and he used every bit of 8200 before he would shift. we used to drive it on the street....ricers hated us.lmao
ever since then, ive wated a bigblock so bad, ive been able to taste it.

so, what are your plans for your vette? anything else you gonna do with it? or is it done..for now?

i have to rebuild my engine already at less than 1000 miles. i got some defective rocker arms from a certin parts supplier. 1 of them failed and 3 of them are failing and thats sending ungodly amounts of metal shavings thru my engine and in my bearings. so, im gonna get my 461's completely rebuilt, put an XE268 cam in, and re-ring it along with all new bearings.
