I was out of the gym for several years with a back injury. When I got back to the gym I did a lot of reading in the diet section. Good diet and cardio are the best way to lose fat.

Welcome aboard. Suggest you start with with consistency, intensity, and nutrition to start. Weightlifting is a violent ordeal but it's worth the effort and pain.
