Getting back in the game with a little help

OK here is my situation, I am 35 and in 2010 I had complete reconstruction for the second time to my right knee and four months later had my right shoulder done. I have trained and competed in things all my life but after these last two surgeries and the time off I am having a tough time. I used to do competitive obstacle racing and I am looking to get back into and compete in the Spartans. I am not looking to get huge. I want a little size but want to stay lean because my body retains water very very easily. any ideas on what I should start off with would be a great help

Welcome to the board. Your question is a very broad one to answer. Are you having a tough time physically or mentally? Start by checking out our training and nutrition sections. We also have an anabolic Q&A section that could be of help to you. Do some research here and you should be happy with the results.

Both. Mentally because I am pissed at how far I let myself fall and physically because I am on a short time frame. Competition is in June and would be nice to go the summer without my shirt too. before surgery I was 5'7 193 at 10% now I am around 183 at 17% Nasty I know. the 193 for my frame was to much for me to be effective so I would like to get to 175-180 at 10%
