Hello everyone. I've lurked and participated in several weightlifting forums over the years, primarily ironaddicts. This is the first time I've depated from the "natural" sites if you will. This site has a lot of great information to offer, and I greatly appreciate all of the resources provided.
A little about myself: Like the title says, I recently separated from the Navy, where I was a submariner. Currently, I'm a premed student. I'm 22 years old, 185 lbs, 12-15% bodyfat. I've worked out since I was 16 on and off. Routines generally consist of 5x5 variations, modified WSBB, and strongman events. I'm in the gym about 3 days per week. Cardio is pretty minimal, usually about 15 minutes on the elliptical and a couple morning walks each week. I get in GPP with my workouts, though. My diet is incredibly clean and equally delicious (I'm a serious amatuer chef fyi). I aim for 3000 kcals, split 40/30/30 pro/carb/fat, divided between 5-6 meals daily. I have gone from 220 lbs fat in 2008 down to 175 lbs lean in 2011. Since then, I've been gaining weight toward my goal of 220 lbs at 10% bodyfat. However, strength is my primary goal. I consider myself in good shape compared to most.
I have done a considerable amount of research here over the past several months, and have used innumerable other sources as well. Likewise, I acquired the necessary materials for my first cycle, which I will post for critique in the appropriate forum.
