Veteran. Former officer.
Was on pain killers for nearly four years until I decided to get off my dead ass and do something about it. Working out for two years now, no more pain killers. - first year was spent stumbling around. Second year I just could not get gains until I started mixing it up a bit and eating right. Good diet, water and plenty of rest. Lots of research.
Tore up my shoulders a bit recently (bad form on bench and then did very heavy dumbell fly) so I'm on a resting (and learning) phase. Plan to regroup, plan, learn and go back at it as my shoulders heal.
Never one to jump right in, I want to learn as much as I can before I decide if to do this at all. It's good to see supportive, thoughtful and intelligent people here - thank you all for this.
A quick shout out to any of my fellow Wisconsinites.
