192lbs - currently I'm fat and prone to YO YO
    5'8"

I picked up weightlifting/various cardio my 3rd year in college and really changed my physique with a basic 40 30 30 diet, was also taking ripped fuel. Lost about 60lbs and put on some muscle. Considering I had never lifted before I probably put on quite a bit even though I was losing weight.
Got out of college and started really hitting the weights, my job out of college had a gym on site with weightlifting contests every year. I never got as strong as I wanted and I never got the look I wanted. Looking back I now know I also neglected a lot of muscle groups that I think attribute to a lot of my current problems/soreness.
Once I turned about 30 I started concentrating more on cardio mixed with lower weights/more reps. Took up running, at one point I was running about 140 miles a month. Did that off and on for a few years, job and family is a priority and sometimes prevents me from my goals.
Last year I decided I wanted to break the 2hr mark for a 1/2 marathon. (Big deal for me)
I knew I had to lose weight before I started pounding the pavement, so I hit the elliptical 3-4 days a week for 1 to 1.5hrs. Also mixed in some stationary bike and stair climbing.
Once I got down to a comfortable weight I started running, it wasn't too bad because my cardio was already elevated, however my old hip injury came back. Went and saw a specialist who put me on a leg lifting workout 3 days a week to build a solid base and correct some issues. Ended up with plantar fasciitis 6 weeks before the 1/2. Had to stop running, all I could do was the elliptical and bike. So I hit it HARD, but there is no substitute for running. Day of the 1/2 I made it about mile 2 when I started feeling my foot. It got progressively worse for the next 1/2 mile and then stayed the same. My legs started cramping at mile 10, I finished in 2:03, I wasn't happy!

Anyway, that race was March this year and I haven't done anything since! Needless to say I've lost plenty of muscle and gained plenty of fat. I've also noticed that I'm starting to get symptoms of low testosterone. Had my blood tested and it was 490, low enough to suck, but not low enough for any doctors to do anything about it!
I've been very curious about gear for a long time and I have come back to this site time and time again to learn and do research. I still don't know what kind of cycle I would do if I ever decided to do one. I also know I have a lot of work to do before I ever attempt one.
So I'm here to learn and get motivated and maybe someday try a cycle. I know this is long for an intro and I apologize for that!
    Thanks!
    Vic
