+1 for my post count!
Hey everyone. I'm in my early 30's, live in nor-cal.
Part of my story: i've spent a long time isolated, inactive, battling with recovery and PTSD after a major vehicle accident left me with a chronic injury. About a year ago a doctor suggested (no, actually prescribed) i get out, doing things i once enjoyed.. with other people. And around that same time, i began to become concerned with my weight; Feeling really unhealthy. The biggest i'd ever been in my life. I felt tired, weak, slow, FAT.. Also, just had a kid (to which i knew i had to, and wanted to be healthier for), and was feeling like i needed to address it.
So i decided to return to bjj (healthy activity i enjoy, with people. bases covered), an art ive always been very very fond of. But, before i could, i felt i needed some "pre-conditioning" i.e. weight assessment, nutrition and exercise ideas - you know, reel myself back in. So i came here.
Been lurking around learning alot for a while now, reading reading reading. thought i'd start working on some posts.
So yea..Nice to meet you all. and uh, thank you for everything you ALL contribute.

Welcome!
There are a lot of guys there that have lost big weight. I have lost 75 pounds in the past. The nutrition section can really help you out.
Read the stickies at the top of the sections you are interested in and ask a lot of questions.
Good luck!

Welcome. If you've been in good shape in the past, it's pretty easy to get it back. If not then it takes discipline but if you practice bjj you already have that, too. GL!
