Hello all.
I would like to say hello to everyone. I am 41 years old 5'7" 162-164 lbs. Born in Vietnam but fled to USA with my family. Growing up in USA, my parents didn't have a lot of money but they did have a lot of love for us. At the age of 12, my father made me a barbell using an old metal bar with soup cans on the ends filled with cement lol. The barbell was crude looking but it worked! Probably weighed no more than 15lbs lol!
Anyway, that day was the beginning of my fondness for fitness and having a good physique. But being a kid, and exploring bike riding, fishing etc. lifting weights was not my main priority. So off and on I worked out with weights and luckily I had a fast metabolism when I was younger. I managed to maintain a slim semi-muscular build up until marriage and kids lol.
With that said, I slacked off during my late 30s and peaked at my heaviest (fat wise lol) three years ago at around 176lbs!!
Now with a squat rack/Olympic weight set in my basement and three years later I'm feeling pretty good about myself.
Some days after a long day at work I seem to lack the energy for working out but still do it and remain consistent. Hopefully I will learn a lot from this forum as far as advantages/disadvantages on supplementation.
