Thumbs up New member, aspiring IFBB pro (Serious Intro)

    Hello all,

Recently I've been heavily contemplating whether I want to try my hand at seriously competing as a bodybuilder. With the Olympia around the corner and me heading to the EXPO this week, I've decided that I would like to seriously compete and learn as much about not only being a bodybuilder, but the industry as a whole, and what I have to do to move forward in it. I'm 19 years old, I've been training since I was 14, but I am now seriously considering competition and undertaking the lifestyle. I'm not completely oblivious to the dark side of BBing, the fitness industry, and the use of "you know what". As you all know, Bodybuilding is a business with politics, I know everyone's on something, and I know I will most likely spend thousands of dollars if I follow through on this and may potentially never become an IFBB Pro much less Mr. Olympia.

Though it is a goal of mine, and I will do everything in my power to at least step on the Olympia stage, even if I come in dead last. That being said, I decided to educate myself on all aspects of the sport, diet, bulking, cutting, posing, contest prep, etc. I hope I can find help from all of you here and thank anyone for contributions to my goals. I am a fledgling, but a fledgling with realistic expectations and one hell of a work ethic. Again thank you all, I'm glad to be apart of this forum.

    EDIT: Here are my stats

    6'2

    165 lbs.

Around 9-12% BF I'm not entirely certain

    (Again age 19)

    Welcome.

Please visit our nutrition forum. At 19 years old and 165lbs at 6'2 you are a long way off competing even at a local show.

I realize that, I live within a family of six barely making ends meet so naturally, I have to share the food in my house and can't completely focus on competition. I believe I have a solid base however, maybe because I'm lean. Though until I move out I can't completely focus on competition though currently I'm taking the steps to educate myself. Hopefully one day my efforts will pay off.

You need to concentrate on you diet and make sure you train correctly, food is going to be your biggest expense so if you can afford to eat 6-8 meals per day and gain another 30-40 naturally then your goals are going to be very hard to achieve, but in any case post up your diet in the nutrition section and your training routine in the lifting section because these are the areas you need to get to grips with and build more of a natural base

I plan to wait another 3-4 years before I plan on starting my first cycle. Do you believe I can gain 30-40 lbs. in that amount of time? I can afford the food, but my parents make me pay rent and take about half my paycheck a month so eating 6-8 meals a day is certainly do-able though I may need to find a better paying job. Agreed with the other forum sections thank you.

As I've said before, I'm not gonna cycle until I'm 23-24 but I'm trying to gather my research now, so I know what to do when the time comes. Would Testosterone Cypionate be good for someones first cycle?
